This is how we found out...

Mother in law went to visit her brother for the day. He was not feeling well, and told her he hadn't been to the loo for 11 days.
She promptly went off to the chemist to get meds to make is tummy work.
After 4 hours nothing, so she came home.
It was about 3 hours after returning home, a friend of the Uncle called he is in pain.
Was rushed off to hospital.
Scans etc was done, by that time mother in law was at his side.
He stayed in a general ward for two days, then the DR decided to operate.
When he came out he had a colostomy bag and was in I.C.U
We thought it was due to his age, 77.
Four days later he finally woke, and was in depro mood. After lots of talking and explaining he seemed to come out of his mood swings.
within two weeks he was released home, no one was there to take care of him, we offered he move in with us. Of course been stubborn, he said no.
Stayed alone and we all took turns making a turn, he lives an hour away from us.
After 9 months they finally removed his bag, that was a nightmare, he kept pulling the bag out. forgot to change it. I am amazed he survived this.
It is now 6 months later and he has been in to hospital for 2 scopes.
He says he is doing fine, but watching him he lost 22kg, can barely walk and is still not eating healthy.
To top it all his new hobby is now drinking....
We try go past as often as we can but with mother in law ill, it is hard on us two.
Will keep this post going....

It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that they are difficult.
