Increasing demand for food parcels, looting of shops and cries from the hungry in South Africa under lock down conditions imposed as a precautionary measure amid the Covid-19 pandemic raise concern over the plight of many in South Africa (and, more broadly, in Africa).
Daily Maverick

We live in a small town, that has been assisting many people even before lockdown, now there seems to be a way to let others know you in need.
Tie anything on your gate that is yellow, if you ride past and see the sign.
And if you are able to assist, take them a parcel. No need to give your name etc etc... You put it at their door, or ring the bell at the gate hand over the parcel and leave.
It is a working system we have here...

We have a few groups that do collection of food, clothing or money to purchase items needed. If you feel you don't want to do this face to face with the people.

We are all doing our bit to make life easier.

It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that they are difficult.

How sad, all these people that don't have a plate of food. Really breaks my heart.

I am sure I am not the only one, that wishes they could give more do more and be there to assist.

It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that they are difficult.

Today my heart broke, I went to collect my grandson.
When I got to his mommy house, there bigger than ever a bright yellow ribbon on their gate.
I didn't say a word, brought my grandson to spend his time with his daddy and when I drop him off I will help ease that pain of the yellow ribbon...

Riding through our area, my heart broke....

In a street of 14 to 16 houses, every second house had a yellow ribbon around their gates...

This is scary...

It is not because things are difficult that we do not dare, it is because we do not dare that they are difficult.
